The job well done
Feeling on top of the world in Bournemouth
Congratulations to Carol and the whole FCC team on another successful showing at the annual BABS Convention. Our performance of
Come What May and
Accentuate The Positive was given a score of 67%, our highest so far! Auspiciously that morning, two long-standing members hit official Fine City anniversaries: Peter Mac has been singing with us for 10 years, and Paul Cator for 20!
Other things that made this Convention so memorable were the chance to hear the massed but incredibly subtle voices of the Ambassadors of Harmony, all the way from St Louis, the renowned quartet Vocal Spectrum, lots of excellent British choruses, and to encounter giants of the barbershop world including Jim Henry, David Wright, Chris Hall, Tim Waurick, and many others. It was remarkable to find such luminaries to be so approachable, friendly and encouraging.
Our mixed chorus Mosaic sounded great, too, and it was nice to see Norwich singers such as Paul and Eliz popping up in other ensembles, and the people mingling and bursting spontaneously into song all over the melting pot of the convention.
Well done, everyone!
